HOW TO MAKE ROTATED ECOS
UPDATED 22-05-2010
Note this was made for older versions of Vue, from Vue7 onwards, you should be able to rotate ecosystems much more easily and probably won't need this :)

Ever wondered how to make an ecosystem come out of vertical walls etc?

 1) Take your object, apply an ecosystem to it

2) We need to rotate the eco objects by altering it in "Scaling and Orientation".
Go to "Rotation", click "All Axis", then click the function editor button for it, and "adjust random number".

Check "Direction from Surface" is at 0%
I've worked this out to be 0.5 vue units = 45 degrees!
Adjust number as need.
hit "Populate".
Then Rotate the *object* the ecosystem is on.

3) so say you want some trees growing out of an almost vertical slope on a terrain, you could make a flattened cube, apply an ecosystem to it, rotate the ecosystem's object and, place it just underneath the terrain, so you have the illusion of plants growing out of sheer faces! ;)

NOTE: if you rotate the object the eco is on, or edit it, it will reset and your rotated eco will be cleared, so watch that!
